Thank you Dr. Amanda Schwint and her teams from National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA), National Research Council (CONICET), University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) for their efforts on collaborative research projects with Hi-Q.
Dr. Schwint is an internationally recognized expert in Radiobiology of BNCT and winner of the 2018 Hatanaka Award. Their translational research has been devoted to optimize BNCT for different pathologies. Boron Neutron Capture Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is an emerging treatment modality aimed at improving the therapeutic ratio for traditionally difficult to treat tumors.
In the collaborative research projects with Hi-Q, the teams evaluated the therapeutic effect of BNCT with Oligo Fucoidan on tumors and its radioprotective effect in two cancer models. There was a clear tendency of Oligo Fucoidan to enhance BNCT therapeutic efficacy on tumors in both models.
